The Savant Business Process Manager is a Business Process Modeling, Execution and Management environment that
  • Enables business users to map out the business processes of an enterprise
  • Executes and manages these processes efficiently and
  • Provides Analysis and Reporting capabilities for Business Process Improvement.

It supports Manual workflows and Automated processes in an integrated environment, while retaining the capability to define and execute them independently.

With its inherent dynamism and robustness, The Savant Business Process Manager puts control over business processes into the hands of managers, empowering them to alter the behaviour of their business resources and systems at their discretion, and on their terms.

Salient Features of the Savant Business Process Manager

  • Visual modeling and robust execution of User-defined Business Processes
  • Support for Straight Through and Collaborative processing : Smooth and efficient System-to-People and People-to-System transitions
  • Ease of process modeling : Visual modelling environment using standard Graphical User Interface features
  • Capability to model component subprocesses that can then be used to assemble more complex processes
Incorporates acknowledged standards put forward by WfMC and BPMI
  • Business Process Improvement and Business Intelligence enabled by extensible, user-defined reporting features
  • Highly scalable and robust architecture
  • Multi-threaded process engine provides a guarantee of high performance

Components

  • Business Process Framework : This is the User Interface where the Business Analyst creates the most atomic components in the system, through models and definitions, namely :
    • Organizational Model : Organizational Units, Roles, People and Partners
    • Business Entities : Products and Services
    • Resources : Equipment, Facilities and Materials
    • Business Activities : The atomic unit of a process definition
    • Entity States : The states of Entities, with respect to activities
  • Business Process Flow Modeler : In this User Interface, the Business Analyst creates the entire process model of the organization, utilizing the various atomic components created earlier in the Business Process Framework. The output of this Interface are the process definitions, stored in a Process Repository and later executed by the Process Engine.
  • Process/Transaction Engine : This service is the runtime environment of the system. Reading from the Process Repository, it executes processes and interacts with human participants through the worklist handler, and with external applications through the Datrics Integrator.
  • Business Process Service Manager : This is the administration module. It monitors currently executing processes, and provides an interface to effect changes in the systems's environment and execution, including suspending or stopping processes, and manually initiating new process instances.
  • Worklist Handler : The worklist handler is the human interaction interface for the system. Any activities that need to be carried out by people are handled by this module, as collections of workitems in worklists. It features notifications for overdue tasks, Customized timezone settings for users and E-mail, among other features.

Benefits to the Business:

  • Centralized Representation and Management Process Modeling has matured considerably and businesses stand to benefit by centralizing the representation and modeling of workflows and internal/external processes. The cost of training new people on process flows would reduce, and a single comprehensive modeling environment would replace multiple, disparate process represenatation techniques, thereby introducing standards for process communication.
  • Dynamism of change Changes to process and activity definitions could be done rapidly, and modifications are applied on-the-fly, enabling real-time change. Rapid development and deployment of new business processes is also possible.
  • Ease of maintenance Managing processes and the system as a whole are extremely easy and driven from the User Interface. Almost all the tasks and activities relating to operations of the system can be accomplished by business users, thereby reducing the need for and dependency on technical staff, and providing direct managerial control over processes.
  • Capability for Analysis and Business Process Improvement The reporting capability of the system is geared to mine transaction information and produce valuable insights into the operations of the business. Insights like resource utilization trends, workflow and process performance, and transacation volume trends enable proactive and creative business process improvement.
